Martha Raddatz Children: Meet Greta Bradlee and Jacob Genachowski

Publish date: 2024-05-06

Martha Raddatz spent a lot of time in Iraq while serving as ABC News’ State Department correspondent before being promoted to senior national security correspondent in May 2003.

She gained notoriety on June 8, 2006, when she and ABC story broke the story before any other news outlet thanks to a tip she received about the whereabouts of terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

Reporting by Raddatz has not been without controversy. She spoke with former vice president Dick Cheney in 2008 about surveys that indicated Americans were losing faith in the Iraq War. She questioned Cheney about it, and his response was “So?” This resulted in a lot of backlashes.

The Long Road Home: A Story of War and Family, written by popular novelist Raddatz, is a book about the siege of Sadr City in Iraq. A TV miniseries based on the novel debuted on NatGeo in late 2017.
