This 40-year-old cave expert was actively participating in the exploration of the cave when he encountered severe intestinal issues. Unfortunately, these issues swiftly escalated into a life-threatening condition characterized by severe bleeding and vomiting, as detailed in the organization’s social media update.

Mark’s ailment has rendered him unable to navigate the cold and damp cave terrain under his power, making it a time-sensitive and challenging situation. Rescue teams comprising experienced cavers must endure roughly eight hours of rugged terrain to reach Mark’s location.
