Bongi Ndaba is a multi-talented South African writer, actress, producer, and playwright.
She was born on the 10th of February, 1972. As an actress, she is best known for her role as Genoril in the SABC1 King Leah mini-series, which aired in 2008.
As a playwright, her most famous work is Shreds and Dreams, which was written in 2004 and adapted to a mini-series that runs from 2010 on TVSA.

Early Life
Bongi Ndaba was born in Eastern Cape, South Africa.
She lived with her grandmother in Eastern Cape before they moved to Margate.
Bongi Ndaba said she had a passion for writing right from childhood.
Sometimes, she would sit alone writing different kinds of weird fiction, and sometimes, she would write about people around her.
In the early stage of her life, she was auditioned successfully as an actress for the playhouse company in Durban. She was directly selected by the drama practitioner, Themi Venturas.
Education
Bongi Ndaba went on to study Performing Art at the Durban University of Technology, and she also studied Education at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
After her study, she moved to Johannesburg because of the television job opportunity available in the city.
Career
Bongi Ndaba’s writing skill was acknowledged for the first time by the Market Theatre’s New Writer’s Festival, and she was allowed to work alongside Zakes Mda, who is a novelist, poet, and playwright.
After she went through a six-month selection process competing for an internship for the soap-opera, Generations, she, among eight others, was hired out of a group of 230 people. Bongi was appointed the head writer in 2012 and served in the role until her resignation in 2014.
Between 2016 and 2017, Bongi Ndaba served as the head writer for the famous South African soap-opera titled Isindigo.
Episode 29 of this TV show was so controversial that she was charged for hate speech. It resulted from the scene where two white racist men buried a black man alive, and the scene was also released on the 26th of April, 2017, exactly a day to South Africa independence day, which is 27 of April every year.
During her time as the head writer of Insidigo, the rating of Insidigo drastically increased as they reached their all-time high level with over 1.7 million viewers.
It made it the most prominent view Insidigo would ever get. However, immediately when Bongi Ndaba resigned as Insidigo’s head writer and left, the followers reduced drastically.
