Bachelor/Bachelorette Castoffs Get Engaged on Reality Show
Sometimes you just know when love is right, and you take the plunge. That’s what happened on the finale of ABC’s Bachelor in Paradise Monday night. Dozens of contestants showed up in hopes of finding love in paradise, and actually didn’t walk away with anything other than a broken heart or a new love interest. For one couple, it meant walking away with an engagement ring and a wedding to plan.
Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul ended the finale of the show by becoming engaged. Marcus got down on one knee on the beach and asked her to marry him, complete with a stunning engagement ring courtesy of the Bachelor’s best friend, Neil Lane. The couple, both 26, is over the moon about their engagement.
“The difference between Bachelor in Paradise and The bachelor and The Bachelorette is if we don’t’ get a date card, we still get to spend time together. So yeah, it’s within a month’s span, but within that month, you get a lot more time,” said Marcus about their relationship.
Lacy goes on to say that she knew she was in love with Marcus when she went to the hospital. “The moment that I went to the hospital. Marcus wanted to be by my side the entire time. I didn’t even know him that long. I was like, ‘Wow, I can only imagine how much he’ll be there for me for the rest of my life,” she says of the moment she fell in love with her fiance.
At the moment, the couple is going to spend some time figuring out where they want to live. They’re going to visit one another’s hometowns and see where they want to settle down and what they want to do. They plan on being engaged about a year before they get married, and it’s all looking happy for the couple.
